In memory of Doc Watson...

North Carolina lost an icon of integrity and talent yesterday... Doc Watson passed away at the age of 89. His home in Deep Gap is a 15 minute drive from our mountain lodge in Fleetwood. I have been a Doc fan for many years... here I am at his statue in Boone, NC.

Two OOPS Artists paint in Kinston Paint Out recently...

Bernie and Karen recently painted in the annual Kinston Plein Air Paint Out sponsored by the Kinston Arts Council. Our friend, Mike Rooney, was the judge. The caliber of paintings were SUPERB this year  A special thanks to the Kinston Arts Council for an awesome event (as usual) and the Mother Earth Brewery for their hospitality.

I never tire painting the North Carolina landscape... I live on the Carolina Coast but spend as much time in the Blue Ridge mountains as possible, all the while, painting as I journey through life.
