I never tire painting the North Carolina landscape... I live on the Carolina Coast but spend as much time in the Blue Ridge mountains as possible, all the while, painting as I journey through life.

.A serene scene that evokes feelings of peace to hopefully help eliminate the daily stress of life. This painting is a reminder for us to slow down and look at the beauty all around us.

Every other Tuesday night I paint with three other artists... we call ourselves the "Four Brush-ka-teers"... Our only rule... we paint from life. We set up a still life and paint alla prima for approx two hours. This one was done on one of our Tuesdays in April when the azaleas were in their glory... a beautiful site in Eastern North Carolina.

I painted this small plein air painting in my back yard. We have a small pond where these iris' grow. They are works of art and we get much enjoyment from their beauty and color... I think the bull frogs enjoy them too...
