This painting, "Ocracoke Lighthouse... Up Close and Personal", gives a different vantage point of how this famous lighthouse is usually painted or photographed. The Outer Banks of North Carolina are beautiful... the crowning jewel in my humble opinion is Ocracoke Island... I always enjoy my visits there. Some legends say that Blackbeard's treasure is buried under the Ocracoke Lighthouse... very doubtful since the notorious pirate was killed in 1718... over a century before the lighthouse was completed in 1823. Ocracoke Lighthouse is currently the oldest continuously operating lighthouse in North Carolina.

Ocracoke Island truly is the Pearl of the Outer Banks in my humble opinion. I love the place and never tire of visiting the beautiful spot. I especially never tire of painting scenes from there. I can see why Blackbeard the pirate loved it so...

The pristine beaches of Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina are unsurpassed in beauty in my humble opinion. The miles of natural shoreline beauty is awesome to behold... Creation at its best! As an artist... I have found many sites of inspiration on this small island. This spectacular view of the ocean through the sand dunes was one of those inspirational moments... "View from Ocracoke Island #2"... the result. If you ever get the chance to visit these beaches please do so.
