Enchanting Ireland series officially begins NOW!

I have spent the last couple evenings working on my first painting for my "Enchanting Ireland" series. I plan to show the paintings in various stages as WIPs... Works in Progress. This will be a bit different for my loyal patrons who frequent this site because you are used to seeing finished works done "alla prima"... "all at once". I also plan to share my thoughts and inspiration behind these paintings... possibly an Irish history lesson or two along the way.

Sit back and enjoy... I welcome your comments at any time. Click on images to enlarge.

Below is the burnt umber under-painting stage... no worries... I don't intend for the young lad pointing to look like he is from the Planet of the Apes for long...

I'll share updates plus a little info about Annie Moore soon...

Great News! My first solo art show set for August 2009

I just received some great news... my recent trip to Ireland will be the inspiration behind my first solo art exhibit set for the Baysden Gallery in August 2009. The exhibit is titled "Enchanting Ireland" and I have exactly one year to paint approx. 24 paintings for the show. I look forward to sharing this journey with you and could use your encouragement every step of the way. I have been sorting through the 1900+ reference images I took trying to chronicle a story about this special trip. I hope to capture the beauty of the country and her people in this special series. I plan on painting several small studies as inspiration for the larger works and will offer them for sale here and on eBay.
Stay tuned...
